Earlier this month, news broke that there would, in fact, be a Boy Meets World sequel, titled Girl Meets World, surrounding the child of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel). Once this was confirmed, the Internet was suddenly filled with rumors, with many, myself included, launching theories about the child and the potential plot, based on hints given during the original show's run. The most important question, however, wasn't the plot. It was whether or not the show's two main stars, Cory and Topanga, would return for the sequel, or if it would simply use the original framework with a new cast. For weeks, silence surrounded the project, and then yesterday:
I've got to make this quick, because I have an entire Information Superhighway to web surf in search of clues related to this story, but here's what I know so far (please sit down; you most certainly aren't ready for this):
1. THEY ARE MAKING A SEQUEL TO BOY MEETS WORLD.
Yes, I know. This is the best news of 2012. Or maybe of the whole decade. What's it called, you wonder? BMW II: The Rise of the Feeny?
2. Even better. It's titled Girl Meets World. Fantastic, right? Why that title?
3. It's about the daughter of Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel).
Don't freak out. What's happening to your body is a symptom called "'90s-induced asthma." It's very common. You'll be FINE.
Sports Illustrated/Victoria’s Secret model Marisa Miller will make her feature film debut in R.I.P.D.. The movie stars Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds as two dead cops who work in the "Rest in Peace Department," where they monitor ghosts who refuse to move on. Miller plays Bridge’s human form, what people see when he’s on Earth. And never again will more 12-year-old boys leave a movie theater saying, “I want to see Jeff Bridge’s character naked.” Grade: C- [HR]
Diane Keaton’s HBO series Tilda — which was loosely based on the life of Hollywood blogger Nikki Finke — did not make it to the air, but the network still wants to make it work with Diane, so they've signed her to a holding deal. Until a show of hers is picked up, though, Keaton will earn her keep by working as a PA on Hung. Grade: A [Variety]
