Good news for treadmill users, commuters and dudes killing time in class … the BS Report has returned from a 10-day hiatus!
Our guests today:
Grantland's Jonah Keri: We discuss the "fun factor" of the 2011 baseball season, Jacoby Ellsbury's MVP chances, whether Jose Bautista's numbers make any sense whatsoever, whether the Rangers should be feared or not, which players you'd want to start a baseball team, what we'd change about the baseball playoff format, and whether Jonah's unabashed love of a certain Rays player trumps my unabashed love for all Boston teams. Also, Jonah successfully weaves in acronyms like "BABIP" and "FIP" without making me feel too inferior.
NFL Network's Mike Lombardi (36-minute mark): We wrap up the free-agency frenzy, then discuss the contenders with the best continuity (N.E., N.O., Philly, Indy, G.B. and Pittsburgh) and how they did, which teams look worse than before (hint: one of them rhymes with "Die-ami"), the megabuzz about a certain rookie stud (fantasy alert!) and if Peyton Manning's neck injury is worse than everyone's letting on … and, of course, at the tail end, I force Lombardi to talk glowingly about my beloved New England Patriots until I'm satisfied enough to end the podcast.
