Athletes are at their best in the offseason. Let's celebrate their antics.

On May 21, the Los Angeles Lakers were knocked out of the NBA playoffs. Here's what Metta World Peace tweeted about the outcome the next morning:

Disappointed, but classy. A great gesture to the better team. One would assume Metta would take a little time to get out of his funk, but that would be far from the truth. Lest we forget, the NBA season is Ron-Ron's offseason. The period of time not playing professional basketball is his true time to shine.

How do we feel about this hat? Also, this is a weird way to go about not-apologizing.

• A large person
• An NBA commentator
• A widely respected NBA journalist
• Someone who has gotten so angry playing sports that he's concussed another large person
• Someone who has been concussed by a volatile, large person
• Metta World Peace
• Ron Artest

Knowing all of these things about myself, I can still confidently claim to understand one thing about Sunday's incident involving Metta's elbow and the side of James Harden's head. That sole thing:

No one knows why it happened. Not you, not me, and if I had to guess, not even Ron-Ron.
