Michael Kruse (@michaelkruse) is a staff writer at the Tampa Bay Times and a contributing writer for Grantland. He won the Society for Features Journalism's award for best short feature of 2010 and the American Society of News Editors' award for distinguished non-deadline writing in 2011.
