Excitement is Building

It's 10am on Thursday, 4 April here in Perth.  Ken and Janet are waiting for Elle (a high fashion women's clothing store) to open.  At the opening they slip in to pickup the now famous "ball dress".  The operation is top secret as Piper has cleverly tricked everyone into thinking that she is wearing a rather mundane normal looking ball dress.  But Piper would no more be caught in a "normal" ball dress then Cher in a dress that covers her navel at the Academy Awards.  Ken and Janet have been sworn to secrecy.

Ken and Janet spend most of the rest of the day outfitting Ken who doesn't have a thing (or a clue) to wear to the "befores" party hosted by someone who Piper only describes as the "richest girl in the school". 

Right after school, Piper is rushed to the nail salon where her nails are done to perfection in a pale pink (see picture).

Meanwhile, Janet goes to the hair salon across the street to get a great looking cut and color.

Meanwhile, Skyler is amused by all of the fuss and is happy to tell stories of his escapades last year while watering at his School's senior ball.

They all end the day at a Chinese restaurant with Piper repeatedly saying, "I'm sooooooo excited", while managing one call after another on her handphone.

Tomorrow is the day!!

The Hairdresser

It's Friday at 1pm.  Piper and the other 12th graders are out of school early in order to allow them time to get ready for the ball.  Skyler has also chosen to get out of school early to join the preparations.  We rush Piper to Taboo, a hairdresser in Claremont.  Piper decides on a very special hairdo.  Then it's off to Perth to get the makeup done at Meyers.

Getting Ready
By the time we get back to the chalet it's 5pm.  That's when we are suppose to be at the "before befores" get together at Peter and Gallena's.  So we are running real late.  There's a mad rush to get ready.  But by 6pm, it's all coming together and we're ready to go.  Piper looks great!!!

The Before Befores
We rush to the Peter and Gallena's for the "Before Befores" get together with our Bali friends.  In addition to Peter and Gallena, there are Jan and Kevin, and Carola.  Unfortunately, we get there just in time so say hello and goodbye.  All of the kids look great.
