It was then back to Nairobi and the Norfolk Hotel.  Then the next day on to the Aberdares Reserve in northern Kenya. Here we spent a night at the famous Treetops lodge.  The lodge sits right next to a large salt pond so we could watch the animals up close drinking and licking the salt. We saw more elephants and rhinoceros. This experience allowed us to be part of the incredible, prehistoric sounds of elephants, rhino, and cape buffalo. We were amazed by the pecking order and constant challenge among the animals. It was audio, in a way we could not experience on our other venues.
